🪴 Cultivation

Adapts to pH 5.5–7.5 soils but crops best in loamy, moist, well-drained soils of pH 6.0–6.5. Has a long, sensitive taproot — transplant carefully, as damage heals slowly. Hardy in zones 7–10, tolerating about −12 °C, but needs a frost-free period during fruit ripening. Spacing 6–7 m.
