atemoya
Annona × atemoya Mabb.
Family: Annonaceae · Genus: Annona
Hybrid of sugar apple (A. squamosa) and cherimoya (A. cherimola), created in the US in the early 1900s and introduced to Brazil in the 1960s. Combines sugar apple's sweetness with cherimoya's larger size and hardier cultivation. Small-to-medium tree (3–6 m), open canopy. São Paulo leads Brazilian production (Southeast, South, southern Bahia).

🪴 Cultivation
Spacing 3–4 m between plants. Propagation almost exclusively by grafting (seeds produce low uniformity). Manual pollination recommended for uniform fruit set.
