Where it fits in a guild
Bacuri takes the Emergent stratum in the Climax phase of succession — in a guild it shares the line with species from the other strata, each harvesting light at its own height, in its own time.

🪴 Cultivation
Grows on firm ground (does not tolerate waterlogging) in humid tropical climate; high ecological plasticity, occurring from the forests of Pará to the savannas of Piauí. Root-suckers only in light gaps. Seedlings from seed take 2.5–3 years; regenerating the primary root shortens seedling formation to ~1 year.
